  • Evening primrose (Oenothera spp.)  also called tree primrose, scurvish, scabbish, King's Cureall, and nightwillow herb is a well known wild flower.

  • Evening Primrose Oil has been praised for centuries for its healing powers in a wide range of ailments.

  • Evening Primrose Oil is a good source of gamma-linolenic acid (GLA) as well as linoleic acid.

  • The secret of the evening primrose is in the seed, which contains the essential fatty acid GLA (Gamma Linolenic Acid).

  • The oil contains 74 % Linolenic acid (LA) and 8 -10 % gamma Linolenic Acid (GLA).

  • Evening primrose oil (EPO) is a plant extract that has been used for centuries and is said to be beneficial for treating many things including breast pain, hot flushes, premenstrual symptoms, eczema, skin disorders, rheumatoid arthritis and much more.

  • Evening Primrose Oil is available not only in capsules, but in liquid form for vegetarians and for external use.

  • The annual Canadian and US production of commercial hybrid evening primrose seed has been estimated to be 160-200 tonnes.

  • The oil is reported to sell in the $50 to $75 per litre range (and higher).
